Boiga cyanea Ecology

The Green cat snake (Boiga cyanea) has been identified as a primary avian nest predator in the dry evergreen forests of SBR through an ongoing nest monitoring study. Because of the limited knowledge on avian nest predation ecology – especially in the tropics, we recognize that there is a need to study the predators alongside their prey in order to gain a deeper understanding of these interactions. This project aims to investigate B. cyanea movements, activity patterns and habitat use through radio-telemetry, in relation to avian nest predation in dry evergreen forests.
